Alfaparf sets up plant in Garín

Friday 02, November 2012

Italian beauty company Alfaparf will invest u$s6 million to manufacture hair products in Argentina again.

This will occur in a new plant that it will set up in the Industrial Complex of Garín (Buenos Aires), and should be finished by March 2013. From there it will produce liquids and semisolids for their formulas in hair coloring, lotions, shampoos and conditioners.

Alfaparf’s decision to return to producing in the country is directly connected with their strategy of landing in January 2013 in Argentina in the pharmacy and perfume channel.

However, the brand will continue with their traditional presence in the hair salon channel through its professional line.

There it competes with other premium brands, such as Koleston and Inoa of the L’Oréal Group and Wella of Procter & Gamble.

With their new plant, the company that has been operating with their own subsidiary in the country since 1995, reactivates production after closing their local plant in 2004 in the neighborhood of Villa Pueyrredón.

The announcement about the opening of the plant was made officially by the company’s global CEO Atilio Brambilla, to the Minister of Industry Débora Giorgi.

In the meeting, there was participation as well from the local leader Massimo Macri, the administrative and finance director Hernán Rodríguez; and the director of operations and technical director Guillermo Kuyumdjian.

From Argentina, in addition to exporting to other markets, it is expected that they have also a great demand in quality of contract manufacturers.
