The German pharmaceutical and nutraceutical packaging solutions specialist Uhlmann has marked its arrival in Argentina. As part of its launch, the multinational held an event on Friday at the Pulitzer Hotel in Buenos Aires, where executives discussed the company’s future and its business plan for Argentina.
Inrecent years, several multinational shave scaled back their operations in Argentina or even abandoned a direct presence completely. In contrast, the German pharmaceutical and nutraceutical packaging solutions specialist Uhlmann has set up shop in the country.
To announce the news, the company held a presentation event on Friday at the Pulitzer Hotel in downtown Buenos Aires. The guests included local leaders in the packaging and manufacturing sectors. Proceedings were opened by Uhlmann’s CEO and Global Director, Michael Mrachacz; the Director of Uhlmann Iberica, Julio González; Sales Manager Antonio Teruel; and Customer Service Technician, Mauricio Boss.
Upon taking the floor, Mrachacz thanked those attending with a brief welcome in English. González followed, providing details about the complex process of establishing a presence in the country and stating that Uhlmann is ready to support all the machines already installed in the various pharmaceutical plants throughout Argentina. Teruel then emphasized his role as the point of contact for new machinery and for after-sales support, a role in which he included Boss, who he described as «our first point of contact in Argentina.»
Uhlmann’s global headquarters in Laupheim, a municipality in southern Germany, is distinguished by high-performance technology for packaging. That’s led to it being colloquially dubbed the «Mercedes Benz» of packaging, although it can also produce more standardised solutions reducing costs.
The company positions itself as a key strategic partner for the pharmaceutical industry, and is recognised worldwide for its comprehensive pharmaceutical packaging solutions. Some of its most in-demand offerings include blister packaging and cartoning machines, both high-speed and high-volume, as well as medium- and low-speed models.
It develops complete and highly reliable lines for blisters, bottles, vials, trays, and cartons, catering to a wide range of needs: flexible models for quick batch changeovers, versatile machines for low and medium production volumes, and high-performance systems for large quantities, ideal for the pharmaceutical and nutraceutical industry.
It also offers cartoning machines for blisters, vials, cartridges, syringes, and ampoules that have become a benchmark in pharmaceutical and nutraceutical packaging. As well as designing reliable and powerful blister packaging machines and lines, the company also notes that it provides a personalised support service, whether that’s for replacing a part, updating control software, training new employees, or relocating existing systems.
